After hitting the device with OTA updates and whatnot, HTC decided to give us the full Gingerbread software for the Nexus One, that’s now available on the Taiwanese company’s servers. You can download the image from here, knowing that is version GRI40 you’re dealing with and that you can play around with it, maybe cooking up some custom ROMs.

Nexus One was the very first handset to receive Gingerbread back in the days, through an over the air update and the second phone to officially run the OS, after the launch of the Nexus S. It’s impressive to think that this smartphone, with its 1GHz CPU, 512MB of RAM and 3.7 inch display is still cool, although it took off at the beginning of 2010…

Makes us wonder what the third Nexus model will be like…
