Imagine if you took the Samsung Galaxy S II and applied to it a 720p screen instead of the 800 x 480 one and also gave it a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Well, that version exists and it’s called the T-Mobile Samsung SCH-T699.

This model will ship with Android 4.0.4 ICS and has just been pictured in the image above. It has a 5 megapixel camera, a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, that’s probably a S3 or S4 unit. What’s interesting is that the Galaxy S III is launching in 3 days on this carrier, so maybe this model will be postponed, in order not to cannibalize the newcomer.

I wonder if there are people out there willing to buy a Galaxy S II with sliding keyboard and 720p screen. People nowadays can type really fast using touchscreen keyboards and with the aid of Swype and other input methods they’re doing it even faster. Anyway, one last thing to know about the T-Mobile SGH-T699: it comes with a front camera and notification LED.
