Sony Ericsson has just announced the flagship Xperia Acro handset in Japan, a version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc we already know of. This Japan-only Acro model takes the Arc and modifies it a bit, in order to become more appealing to the local public.

The specs remain pretty much the same, including the 4.2 inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, plus the 8.1 megapixel camera with Exmor R technology. HSPA and WiFi are also on board, while the OS of choice is Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with SE’s interface customized on top. The differences are in the mobile TV feature included and infrared port for data sharing.

Also, mobile wallet functions are available, allowing Acro owners to pay for services and goods using the phone. Xperia Acro will debut in Japan this summer, in black and white, if you’re intersted. No price was announced yet.
