Sharp has officially joined the Android tablet party.  The company unveiled a pair of Android-based ‘Galapagos’ devices today at a Tokyo event.  One model features a 10.8-inch LCD display (1366×800) while the smaller version offers a 5.5-inch LCD at 1024×600 resolution.  Both come with WiFi connectivity and will connect to Sharp’s new Galapagos cloud-based service, expected in December.  Unfortunately, that’s about all that we have at this point as there are still plenty of unknowns.  We’ll be sure to report back once we know pricing, availability, release dates, and platform version…AKA the important stuff. Here’s a (Japanese) video clip that Sharp is using to promote the devices.
