Good news for owners of devices belonging to the Samsung Galaxy family: they’ll receive the long awaited Android updates this month. The info comes from Samsung Mobile Romania’s Facebook page and it most likely applies to local devices only. Thus, we learn that till March 20, users will get the 2.2.1 update for the Galaxy S.
Gingerbread (Android 2.3) will come before the end of the month on the hot selling smartphone of last year. Samsung I5500 Galaxy 5 and the Galaxy 3 will also get Froyo, with the first receiving the update this week (14-20 March) and the second one getting it towards the end of the month (up until March 31st).
Meanwhile, Samsung Mobile’s international Facebook page doesn’t mention anything…
