Nokia is certainly preparing Windows Phone 8 devices, no doubt about that and that’s been confirmed recently by a bunch of interesting leaks. Among them we find the one here, that involves the mystery model Nokia PureLambda, a device that was spotted in the WP Bench benchmark.

A lucky user playing with a benchmarking tool on his Lumia 800 found a new Nokia listed as the newest device tested and took a picture of it for My Nokia Blog. The model is listed as Nokia PureLambda and its OS version is shown as 8.0.9842. Other listings seem to include the names Nokia Phi, Pure Phi and Alpha. The “PureLambda” thing sounds very much like PureView to me, so I imagine this is one of the first handsets with both Windows Phone and a kickass camera with PureView technology.

Of course, these could be mere codenames and in fact apply to already launched Lumia phones, but since this is Windows Phone 8 I don’t know how many models from Nokia can actually run the new OS right now. Anyway the signs are good and we expect to soon see some real pics of these new models.
