SamsungHub claims that an official Samsung rep has told them that the Galaxy S superphone will be getting Android 2.2 (aka Froyo) in August. The rep says that the SocialHub and TouchWiz 3.0 UI will be included in the update.

*Now, before you go running to pick up a Captivate, Fascinate, Epic 4G, or even a Vibrant, we should point out that only the M110S Korean version of the GS will be getting this update (bummer). Samsung has yet to announce any Froyo dates for the American varieties of Galaxy S, but they have promised that they will get 2.2 sooner or later (we’d prefer sooner).

So, any Korean Galaxy S owners out there can rejoice while everyone else just waits.
