Open Feint Drops New Titles, Prepares for Version 1.1

Gaming in the Android world is still this sort of amorphous blob. It hasn’t really taken shape. We know it’s fun, and it gets better every day, but it’s still unclear as to how Android as a gaming platform will work. Keep in mind, game developers would want to compare this kind of mobile gaming platform with concrete systems like the PSP or the Nintendo DS systems, and right now they don’t exactly add up, but at the same time Android offers something extra. It’s confusing to think about out loud, but there are companies who are dedicated to exploring it. One of those companies is Open Feint.

For those unaware, Open Feint allows the somewhat unique opportunity to incorporate “the social” into our games. Similar to home based gaming platforms, achievements and scores are all stored and saved to your account, and a leaderboard system in in place for the competitive types.  The games that use it so far have seen increases in use, and the increase in popularity has caused Open Feint to dive into Android with some brand new titles and an upcoming update!
