Boost Mobile just announced a new handset with Android 4.0, decent specs and decent price, the LG Venice. We’re dealing with an Ice Cream Sandwich handset, with a 4.3 inch display, 1 GHz processor and the latest UI from LG, possibly LG Optimus UI 3.0, although the seller doesn’t specify that.
US Cellular also has the Venice on offer but under the name LG Splendor. Venice comes with a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture, a VGA front camera, LG’s QuickMemo app, WiFi, GPS and stereo Bluetooth. There’s also Corning Gorilla Glass protection for the screen and LG Venice is expected to come both online and in stores starting October 10th. ITs price tag is 9.99 without contract and other retailers will soon get the handset as well.
The phone has 2 GB of internal memory, supports a 800 x 480 pixel resolution and has a standard 1700 mAh battery, offering up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 10 days of standby time. There’s also a microSD card slot on board, Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR, WiFi, S-GPS and the ability to do SmartShare media sharing via wireless to DLNA supporting devices.
