After the end of the many tech shows at this year’s start (CES, MWC, CeBIT) we focus on leaks again, in order to uncover that RIM has big plans for its BlackBerry OS platform. These were just detailed by a major leak, showing the Canadian company’s plans till December 2012. These include BlackBerry OS 7.0 among many software updates.

We learn that Facebook, Social Feeds, Flickr and Twitter will all get updates and QNX will more likely arrive on some BB handsets. As far as 2011 is concerned, BlackBerry Internet Service 4.0 will be available around March or April, while version 4.1 will arrive in August/September. BlackBerry users should expect Twitter 1.1 between March and June and Viigo’s End of Life status in August.

App World will be available on the BlackBerry Playbook tablet in March, while BlackBerry Protect 1.1 and 1.2 will be updated in March and Many. Social Feeds 2.0 will receive an update for OS 6.1 in late April and the list goes on and on, with BB OS 7.0 being integrated near the end of November 2011. We have no idea if integration means update or release onto devices, but time will tell.
