During IFA 2011′s Samsung Unpacked event, the Asian company didn’t only unveil the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy TAb 7.7, but also the Wave 3 bada OS smartphone, that we knew about from a week ago. Bada OS 2.0 brings new features such as WiFi direct, multitasking and a new messaging service from Samsung ChatOn.
Wave 3 is the flagship model with this OS on board, as it comes with a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, a metal unibody design and a 1.4GHz dual core CPU. Add to that a 5MP camera with flash and we’ve got a success right here. A week ago, the official specs for this model and two more bada 2.0 newcomers were announced: Wave M and Wave Y.
These adopt the new naming pattern from Samsung, with M standing for balanced devices as far as price and performance go, while the Y stands for young users. Back to the Samsung Wave 3, also known as the S500, this smartphone supports GPS, WiFi, HSDPA 14.4Mbps and comes with a 1500 mAh battery.
