Today, Chinese manufacturer ZTE launched the ZTE Light, an Android-powered tablet. This comes just a week after rumors of a 1.3 GHz ZTE phone headed to Verizon. I have to say, ZTE has been causing a fair share of hype recently, and this tablet only adds to it. The Light features a 7-inch touchscreen (no word on whether it’s capacitive or resistive) and weighs just 403 grams. It supports GSM as well as WCDMA bands, so it’s possible that it could end up in the States before long.

ZTE reports that they already have numerous international orders, but no names or pricing have been announced. Hopefully it’s priced on the lower end, which would make it popular among those that don’t want a huge tablet with a Tegra 2 pocessor and Android 3.0. Stay tuned to AndroidGuys for all the latest news on this device.
