The folks of Phone Arena have managed to score a ZTE Nova 4.0 V8000 handset for a brief hands on at CTIA 2012. We’re dealing here with a model that might arrive to Cricket’s lineup pretty soon. Its specs are pretty appealing and this is a worthy rival for the Huawei Mercury, also available on Cricket.

ZTE Nova 4.0 V8000 offers an all plastic body, a glossy trim bezel and soft touch back cover. It’s a very solid device and it’s also light, thanks to the materials it has on board. It’s got a 4 inch WVGA LCD display, a single core 1.4 GHz processor (Qualcomm MSM8655) and Android 4.0 ICS stock as the OS of choice. There’s an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus at the back with LED flash and an 1,900 mAh battery under the hood. Bluetooth, 1GB of RAM, 4GB ROM and WiFi complete the specifications.

We have no pricing for this model, but if it’s truly a Huawei Mercury rival, it should be priced around 0 without contract. Cricket Wireless has to confirm the launch date and price for this model, so keep an eye on them. As a last thing to mention, it’s strange to see all 4 capacitive buttons here below the display, instead of the 3 that Android 4.0 involves…
