The folks of WP7.nl gathered some facts regarding the latest Windows Phone 8 devices and some WP7.5 units from Nokia and integrated them into a comparison graph regarding sizes. As you know, traditionally Windows Phone devices have had appealing design, but they were usually pretty massive and bulky. And so are the new Lumias…

Internal specs are not everything that matters when buying a new phone and design is crucial to some. So the new Lumias may be pretty, but they’re pretty fat. Let’s see just how beefed up they are! The comparison here includes Samsung Ativ S, Nokia Lumia 920 and 820, HTC 8X and 8S, Nokia Lumia 900 and Lumia 800. The thinnest handset is Samsung Ativ S, with a 8.7 mm waistline, while the lightest is HTC 8S, at 113 grams. The thickest is Nokia Lumia 800, at 12.1 mm and the heaviest is also a Nokia, Lumia 920, at 185 grams in weight.

Meanwhile, the Nokia Lumia 820 measures 9.9 mm, weighs 160 grams and the Lumia 900 has the same weight, but more thickness, at 11.5 mm. Both HTC new models with WP8 barely pass the 10 mm mark, so they’re not exactly thin. In the meantime in the Android world, devices have already gone under 7 mm in thickness and they try to get below 110 grams or even lower… Would you sacrifice design for the sake of owning a new Lumia?
