Unbelievable as that may seem, the very first Windows Phone Mango handset might actually come to Japan first… One would expect the phone to drop in the US of A first, considering it’s the homeland of the maker of Windows Phone.

Japanese carrier KDDI might launch the first WP handset with Mango in August and this will be a Toshiba-Fujitsu model codenamed IS12T. It will sport a 3.7 inch LCD display and a water resistant case and it’ll be the same product showcased just days ago at WPC11. Right now the model has Bluetooth and FCC clearance, meaning that we’ll get an US launch date pretty soon.

Strangely enough, Mango hasn’t been confirmed for launch on an exact date yet and already there’s talk of a first phone with it on board launching next month… After all it could be a misunderstanding, right?
