During the recent unveiling of the Nokia E7 in Netherlands, Nokia official Mark Driessen (Benelux manager) claimed that we’ll see an important upgrade for Symbian this fall. Nokia E7 and N8 will get this new software, that will improve their interfaces greatly.

Turns out that Symbian^3′s upgrade will change the UI concept, making it less complex and layered. We’re expecting drop down menus, navigation bars and a top bar, just like the one on Android, maybe. Widgets will maybe be placed wherever and perhaps we’ll get more than 3 home screens, this time. Developers also plan to change the way icons look in Symbian, according to the info we have.

This time, Nokia’s famous OS seems to be ready for a more modern future and we sure hope it won’t be totally killed as WP7 becomes mainstream for the Finns.
