A recent rumor coming from Chinese site WPDang quoting Unwired View stated that Samsung is going to release 3 Windows Phone handsets. These include the rumored Samsung Mandel, that we’ve been hearing about for a while now. Will they be able to rival the already very hot Nokia Lumia 900, selling for as little as contract? Or the 16 MP camera-packing HTC Titan II? We’ll see…
Some of the features that Samsung Mandel comes with are already known, or at least the speculations have mentioned them. We’re dealing here with a 4G LTE smartphone with a 4.3 inch or larger screen with AMOLED technology, WiFi, Bluetooth and HSPA+ connectivity. HSPA+ is a sign that this product is meant for AT&T, since this is the only main US carrier that offers both 4G LTE and HSPA+ support. The trio of Samsung handsets is rumored to adopt Windows Phone 8 Apollo, but even that’s not 100%.
With Samsung focusing more and more on initiatives like Bada or Tizen, plus the Samsung Galaxy S III flagship with Android 4.0, is there really any need to release new Windows Phone units? The report claims that we’ll see the new models in the second half of 2012.
