Since many Samsung Galaxy S users are still waiting for Android 2.2 Froyo in the States, it seemed very unlikely that we would get Gingerbread on these devices any time soon. Well, it happened, but only with the aid of a leak, that made the official Gingerbread 2.3.2 ROM reach the web.

The info comes from an XDA Developers thread, claiming that this is the official ROM. The Polish Android forum found this nifty piece of software and poster Lorbas mentions that he got confirmation that the Gingerbread version is official and will reach the Galaxy S handsets at some point.

Let’s hope this happens sooner, maybe even before Google releases Android 2.4.
