Mobile World Congress 2012 is not defined only by the latest advances in mobile technology, but also by smart solutions that come in affordable packages. Such is the case of the Nokia Asha 202, that gets previewed in the video below and the gallery at the end of the article. We’re dealing with a dual SIM handset that’s part of the new Asha lineup from Nokia, announced at MWC 2012.

The lineup includes the Asha 302, 202 and 203 models and we’re here to analyze the 202, that goes for 60 euro off contract, provides a dual SIM experience and runs S40. This is a touchscreen phone and it stores one of the SIM slots under the battery and another one on the side, with hot swap support. You can create various profiles vor each SIM and as far as design goes, you get a plasticky candybar device with a pretty decent screen area.

  • Dimensions: 13.9mm thickness, 90 grams weigh
  • Display: TFT touch, resistive, 240 x 320 pixels
  • Connectivity: EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB 2.0
  • Camera: 2MP, 15 fps video capture
  • Battery: 1020 mAh Li-Ion
  • Other features: FM stereo radio, FM recording

Nokia Asha 202 is a 2G phone, so EDGE is teh best you’re going to get, but that’s OK, since there’s that new Nokia Browser to compress data and save you some money on data contract. The browser compressed data up to 90% and comes with a search area and bookmarks. There’s also a special offer from Electronics Arts, bundling dozens of game with the device and FIFA 12 is shown on the screen in the demo below. One last thing to know is that you can customize the menu of the device with your favourite contacts and favourite apps.
