FaceLock was the winner at the Nokia World 2010 competition for good reason, since this app is original and useful. It allows the user to unlock his/her device through facial recognition, that will be a welcome addition to Symbian and any mobile platform out there.
Actually, desktop platforms are considering it too, it we’re to believe recent leaks saying that Windows 8 will include a facial recognition system that allows you to log into the OS. Back to FaceLock, the app was part of the initiative involving 36 hours of work using the Qt software environment at Nokia World.
This is only the beginning of what Qt, Nokia and Symbian can do, as they slowly transition to Windows Phone 7… and maybe Windows 8 on tablets.
