LG is preparing for MWC 2012 and aside from that leaked quad core smartphone they’re preparing, the company also has a follow-up for the Optimus 3D ready… Dubbed LG CX2 for now, this new 3D handset is nicknamed LG Optimus 3D 2 for now and it brings a 3D camera and 3D display, plus a bunch of hardware improvements. Here’s the device:

The CX2 comes with a auto stereoscopic display, but this time it’s a NOVA display, although it keeps the resolution and diagonal size of the previous 3D model. LG Optimus 3D 2 comes with a dual core 1.2 GHz CPU, up from the 1GHz one of the predecessor and the same Texas Instruments maker. Other feats include the dual 5MP camera at the rear, just like the model from last year, but a major change is the design, with a waistline 2mm smaller than the first 3D smartphone with Android in 201.

8GB of storage, DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 and 21Mbps HSPA round up a pretty appealing specs list, that sounds pretty 2011 to me, to be honest. Expect NFC to be here and preinstalled Gingerbread, at least for the time being, when we prepare for showcasing at MWC 2012. Hopefully they’ve improved viewing angles and corrected those display issues that made my eyes hurt when viewing 3D content on the LG Optimus 3D….
