LG Nitro HD was one of LG’s latest interesting smartphones and also sadly one of the good phones out there that didn’t get Ice Cream Sandwich in time. Now it turns out that the handset will receive the Android 4.0 ICS update on July 31st.

AT&T revealed that the Nitro HD update will be available to the owners of the device in merely days, on July 31st. It appears that the update will be rolling out via the LG website and not over the air as one may expect. Android 4.0 ICS will bring quite a bunch of new features to the LG Nitro HD, including stuff like Face Unlock, a new user interface, new actions on the lockscreen and improved multitasking with swipe to close apps.

An extra will be the Optimus UI 3.0, that will be available with the new software.
