LG Optimus LTE2 shocked everyone last week, being announced a day after the Samsung Galaxy S III and packing 2GB of RAM. Now we have a new hot LG newcomer, that not only brings 2GB of RAM, but also a quad core processor of the Snapdragon S4 kind. I’m talking about the LG LS970 Eclipse 4G LTE model, pictured below.
This powerhouse of a smartphone uses a Qualcomm APQ8064 processor, one of the latest Krait designs, a quad core Snapdragon S4 to be more specific. It incorporates an upgraded Adreno 320 GPU, so its graphics will be fantastic. LG LS970 Eclipse 4G LTE features 16GB of storage, a 4.7 inch display with a strange 1280 x 768 pixel resolution and a 13 megapixel camera at the back. There’s also a 1.3 MP shoot at the front, for videocall purposes. So, LG has two 2GB RAM-packing handsets ready to compete with the Galaxy S III.
If we add the LG Optimus 4X HD in the mix we’ve got a very appealing portofolio from the company, but the prices will be the ones to say how appealing these models really are. Since this device supports LTE band 25, it’s likely that the LG Eclipse will come to Sprint, bringing 4G LTE support. Something else worth mentioning is the size of the smartphone: 8.6mm in thickness and 142 grams in weight.
