The International Trade Commission ruled that Kodak is right in the legal dispute it has initiated against Apple. ITS Judge Robert Rogers ruled that Apple’s allegations regarding the supposed patent infringement are unfounded, since one of the patents is invalid.

The problem here is represented by two digital camera technologies that Apple owns and the Cupertino giant is claiming that Kodak uses the mechanisms in the Z-series, M-series, C-series and Slice cameras, plus a couple of video cameras. One of the technologies allows the camera to process multiple photos simultaneously, plus there’s another patent for adjusting the image’s color, balance and resolution at the same time.

The decision of the judge will be reviewed by the full Trade Commission and we’re expecting a verdict on September 19th. Kodak is obviously pleased with this evolution of the case, I guess…
