BGR and This is My Next have some very juicy rumors regarding the iPhone 5. It seems that some teardrop-shaped cases for the new iPhone point towards a similar shape of the upcoming smartphone. While most of us think that the new iPhone (iPhone 4S maybe) will be a mere upgrade to the iPhone 4, sources say that in fact it will be a totally original handset.

BGR’s sources claim that the next generation device might come in August instead of September, with an announcement in the middle of beginning of the month and a launch at the end. This would break the tradition of Apple launching iPods in September, but the tradition of announcing a new iPhone in June is already broken, right?

Once again the theory about an edge to edge display appears, this time accompanied by a 3.7 inch diagonal and NFC support. The usual dual core CPU and 8MP OmniVision camera are also in the mix and we will only know how real these pieces of info are once we get a look at the smartphone.
