Apple managed to score a legal victory this week, with the U.S. International Trade Commission ruling that HTC has violated two of its patents. We remind you that Apple and HTC are involved in a legal battle regarding patent violation. 10 patents are involved in this duel and two of them will cause HTC headaches.

The complaint dates from back in March 2010 and if HTC loses, it faces the risk of being banned from selling products in the United States. Of course, the Taiwanese handset maker promised to appeal the decision and defend its products till the final decision. In case they fail, they could settle with Apple and pay a fee.

This is bad news for Android, too, with HTC being’s Google’s most vulnerable partner when it comes to the patents. The creator of the Sensation, Desire S and ChaCha doesn’t have a vast portofolio of patents, like Motorola for example so they can be attacked by various rivals such as Apple. Among the technologies involved in the lawsuit there’s one for scrolling operations, one for programmable tactile touchscreen displays and one for a double sided touch panel.
