After HTC launched the long rumored improved One X – called HTC One X+ – it is time for rumors about the manufacturer’s upcoming devices to again surface on the web. A new HTC device featuring a 5-inch display has been in the center of attention for some time, to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Note II.

Football4PDA, one source for device rumors with a good reputation, has tweeted the naming and some of the specs for HTC’s own phablet. According to the source the new device will be named the HTC DLX. It packs an extremely powerful hardware configuration, similar to what we find in devices like the LG Optimus G. The highlight however is not the quad-core Snapdragon S4 chipset, but rather the 5-inch Full HD display, offering a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

The HTC DLX has its CPU’s clocked at 1.5Ghz with the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, the only one said to offer close to PC performance. There are 1.5 GB of RAM for multitasking and apps. Another feature of the device is its 12MP camera, packing without a doubt HTC’s proprietary image chip for increased performance. A 2,500mAh battery will cover all the power necessities and it is even said that the device will be running Android 4.1.2 – enhanced version of Jelly Bean. Whether these rumors are true or not, it is most likely that the new device will be announced next year.
