Google Video is an online movie rental service that you might not be aware of, although it was launched at Google I/O in May. This service supposedly made a surprise appearance on a Nexus S unit, as shown in the video below.

What’s really strange is that the app was available in Android Market briefly, only to disappear later. Some of the quick downloaders who toyed with the software, found it to be filled with issues. This means that in weeks or maybe days from now, the finalized version of the app could come to your Android phone, as an alternative to Netflix and Blockbuster.

The UI looks a bit like the YouTube client on Android handsets and it’s quite responsive. There’s even a tablet user out there who installed the app and claims that it’s running without issues on an Acer Iconia A500 with Honeycomb 3.1. We’ll just have to wait and see…
