Google Shopper updates brings search filters, featured lists

Google has announced in a blog post that their Google Shopper application is being updated to version 1.3. Google Shopper was much more popular than originally expected, and it’s about to get even better. According to Daniel Switkin, the Senior Software Engineer for Google Shopper, the new version brings a few new features to the table. One such feature is the ability to filter your search results by price and/or brand.

For example, if I was searching for a washer and dryer, I could narrow down my results by choosing which brand I want, like Whirlpool or Maytag. Pretty handy, no? Another new, ahem, feature is the “featured lists”, which is basically a list of recommended items for the holidays that you can scroll through.
