A couple of days ago we found out that the next Google Nexus phone may end up being a slightly tweaked LG Optimus G. Now the information is back, this time confirmed by several other reports, including a pretty serious one from CET. The handset is expected to be announced at the end of the month, according to an insider and it even gets to keep the specs of the Optimus G.

It will still be modified to be made fit for the Nexus program. Google and LG aren’t yet sure how to name the product, with previous speculations gravitating around the name Nexus G. LG could use a reputation boost, especially in USA, where the brand is not that well known. However, a Nexus phone with Android 4.2 may do wonders for the brand and generate some buzz in the Android developer and fan community. If you want to know specs, the Optimus G has a Qualcomm quad core processor of the Snapdragon kind, 2 GB of RAM, a 1280 x 768 true HD IPS display and an 8 megapixel camera.

It also comes with a non removable battery and it will have no microSD card slot and only 8/16GB of storage. Rumors also say that LG is not the only company building a Nexus phone, as some other handset manufacturers are lining up for the task. Will we enter November with a quartet or more Nexus Phones? Have your say in the comments area!
