We all know that Google gets pretty purchase happy sometimes. Depending on the time of year, you can read once a week that Google has acquired SOMETHING to make it more awesome. The search giant is now so much more then a search giant that it seems that as often as something gets scooped up, another project dies. Fortunately, we can all enjoy one project that makes everyone except those guys in Redmond and those dudes over at Infinity Loop pretty happy – Android. It makes Google happy enough that VP David Lawee spoke about the original deal recently.

David Lawee is the VP of corporate development, and at a Stanford Symposium recently he called Android the “best deal ever” and spoke about his early interactions with Android’s Andy Rubin, and how that relationship came to be.

“I saw this guy in my building for two years, walking his dog, and I was like, I hope this guy does something,”

Andy was at Google for awhile before Google put Android out into the world, and he continues to head the Android project at Google. The match couldn’t be better for everyone. We all love Android, we all love Google, and the combination is what makes the experience so great.

Google’s David Lawee “hearts” Android originally appeared on AndroidGuys.
