This week we’ve seen a lot of the iPhone 5 in leaks, with a focus on back plates and minor components, like docking connectors. Now several more images appeared to user us into the month of June, that will see iOS 6.0 previewed at WWDC 2012, most likely.

The new shots are in high resolution and get rid of all doubts and blurriness. They show a comparison between the black and white versions of the next generation iPhone back. As you can see, metal is used very much for these back cases and I wonder if it’s merely a stylistic choice, or it actually has a certain purpose. The metal antenna band is molded into the metal backplates. That’s probably Apple’s way of creating a unibody layout for mobile handsets. Apple could use all the space it gets to integrate that rumored bigger battery, to power up the LTE chip and rumored bigger display.

The photos show some of the features of the next gen iPhone, stuff like the smaller dock connector, the moved earphone jack (to the bottom corner of the device), redesigned speaker grills and a brand new opening between the camera lens and LED flash. The opening could be meant for the second microphone to the back, for better audio capture in video recording. These are all speculations and should be taken with a grain of salt! Other rumors include a 3.9 – 4.1 inch display with 1136 x 640 pixel resolution and nano SIM card slot.
