Looks like Dell is going to listen to it’s user base who have been giving the computer giant static for the fact that their drivers for the Dell Streak have not been open for the community.  With no source drivers, developers have not been able to “talk” to the Streak’s exact hardware, which is certainly a major hurdle to clear.

Official Dell bloger, Lionel Menchaca gave indications last night via twitter that Dell would be working to comply with open source standards with the Streak.

There is no word as to when Dell will comply, or to what extent.  It is good to see some movement regarding this issue, but we have learned to not hold our breath when something like this is said.  Let’s hope Dell comes through with the things they are hinting at.
