Remember the story saying that LG Optimus 2X, the very first dual core phone out there won’t be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as an update? Well, this info has just been dismissed by LG, with the company saying it’s all rumors and that they’re in the process of planning the update for the Optimus 2X.

LG also claims that they will be allowed to release an official timeline for the update, once Google allowed them to access the new Android. All the rumors and speculations about the LG portofolio not getting Android 4.0 started when the LG Indian Facebook page published info saying that the Optimus 2X won’t support Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The result was a serious wave of hate towards the Asian company that actually did nothing wrong…

Well, actually they did… delay the Android 2.3 Gingerbread till the past days. We have to remind you that some pretty interesting phone models, such as the LG Optimus 3D, LG Optimus Black and LG Optimus 2X are barely now getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread, so imagine how long it will take Android 4.0 to reach them… maybe a year?!
