The spring starts on March 1st, theoretically and that’s the same date when the rollout of the Android 4.0 ICS updates will start for the Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note. Eldar Murtazin is the one with the info here, the famous Russian blogger who always finds stuff out before other people do.

It appears that ICS will arrive on these devices with an upgraded version of the TouchWiz interface. Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note will certainly benefit from the new software, since we’ve see the first one already messing with ICS, through some custom ROMs and even the official software leaked at some point. The updates will come either OTA or through the Kies software. Of course, March 1st is just the start of a time frame and most of you won’t get the update then, since it will depend on how fast the carriers move.

If you remember how long it took for the first Galaxy S to get updated, you’ll know what I’m talking about, especially for the US market. We’ve also heard that HTC has some big plans for ICS updates in March as well, so it will be a merry spring for those of you with handsets capable of running the latest Android. No info about LG or about the Galaxy Tab slates so far… but I guess their updates are coming. I guess that around May everyone should have Android 4.0 on their Galaxy S II units.
