In spite of what most of you think, Alcatel is not dead and it keeps on making handsets, such as the model pictured below. Meet the Alcatel OT-915, a follow-up to the OT-990, that got a limited release after being showcased at MWC 2011.

The new model will also come to MWc, on this year’s edition. The OT-915 features a touchscreen display, just like the OT-990, but it also brings a portrait QWERTY keyboard below the display, just like a BlackBerry. The specs here include a 2.8 inch diagonal screen, with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, a 11.9mm thick case and Android 2.3 Gingerbread as the OS.

The OS isn’t customized in any way and you must know that Alcatel OT-915 also comes with a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi and FM radio. There’s no price or release date made available just yet, but you wait till MWC and you’ll get all the info you need. Electricpig is saying that we could see this model taking off in UK before the year end.
