Samsung is preparing to move on to the next phase of CPU evolution, by working on a dual core 2GHz solution for smartphones. The info comes from an unknown Samsung official, saying that we’ll see such a handset ready by 2012.

Apparently, the device will provide the same processing power as the one of a regular PC. This dual core newcomer could be part of the Exynos series and receive major overclocking for the best of results. This is not all that impressive, considering Nvidia will announce the quad-core Tegra 3 solution this fall.

What’s interesting is that Samsung will also borrow its technology to other mobile manufacturers, from what we’ve heard.
