The Nielsen Company has issued another report that shows Android’s growth continues to skyrocket.  According to their data, roughly one in three (32 percent) smart phones sold over the last six months were powered by Android.  Apple’s iOS  stayed practically still at 25 percent while RIM devices came in slightly ahead at 26 percent.  Why did Android do so well, you might ask?  How about a slew of phones that include the likes of Droid Incredible, EVO 4G, Droid 2, and Samsung Galaxy S series.

Also in Nielsen’s report were the overall OS share.  Apple still owns this with 31 percent while RIM comes in a close second with 28 percent.  Android?  It’s on the fast track, rising to 19 percent.  The next time we look at this chart we expect to see some changes!
