Lenovo is having a busy month, so after announcing the IdeaPhone K860 they’re unveiling a lower end model now, the dual SIM Lenovo A660. This handset runs Android 4.0 ICS and it’s the first waterproof mobile device made by the company, with IP67 certification. This means it’s also dustproof, which is pretty cool as well.

Lenovo A660 supports 3G connectivity on both SIMs, has a 4 inch WVGA Gorilla Glass display, a 5 megapixel camera at the back and a VGA front camera. It also has a 1 GHz dual core processor, a 1500 mAh battery and the handset is 10.5 mm thin, which is not that great of an achievement considering there are sub 7 mm phones out there. The device comes in a variation of colors and for now the price and launch date are a real mystery.

The handset looks like a Samsung Xcover alternative to me, especially for the right price. It also seems to have a custom UI, the one that we also saw on the IdeaPad and ThinkPad tablets, but in a more cartoonish version. Hopefully it won’t get in the way of the standard Android experience.
