Japan’s KDDI to Carry Samsung SMT-i9100 Tablet in 2011

Japanese wireless provider KDDI is expected to offer a Samsung tablet in early 2001, but, shockingly, it will not be the Galaxy Tab.  The SMT-i9100 features a slight different look with a few modifications under the hood.  Like the Tab, it features Android 2.2, a 7-inch WSVGA (1024×600) touch screen, and 512MB RAM with support for WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1, and a microSD card slot.  However, the i9100 loses the front-facing camera and the main camera dips to a lowly 2-megapixels.  The user interface is said to be Ocean Observation UI instead of Samsung’s TouchWiz.  We expect this to have a (considerably) lower price point when it arrives in the coming year.
