We’re only two days away from the big ASUS event on October 16th, when the PadFone 2 will be unveiled in Milan and Taipei. Obviously, it’s time for leaks and they came via unofficial, but also official sources this time. We’ve got the Twitter account @evleaks, offering a glimpse into the official press pictures of the product and then the ASUS CEO showed a short hands on with the device in the video below.

The Twitter account has a good track record, having unveiled real pictures of the Nokia Lumia 820 and 920 before it was officially announced. ASUS PadFone 2 seems to keep most of the design of the first predecessor and it has a teardrop profile, plus an improved 13 megapixel camera and a bigger 4.7 inch display, probably with HD resolution. There’s also a front camera on board and what looks like a metallic edge. Capacitive buttons are placed below the screen and we haven’t yet figured out if the device runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean.

In the video below we also see some photo samples taken with the ASUS PadFone 2 and shown by the CEO. The PadFone Station tablet has also received a new design and it looks thinner and more elegant. Also, it replaces the hump at the back with a sliding tray, that leaves part of the device out in the open. We’re also expecting that this smartphone comes with a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and probably 2 GB of RAM. We’ll give you more info from Milan when the ASUS event debuts.
